On March 17, the pilgrimage to Jerusalem will begin for the Pioneer Group, led by the Guide of the Way: Avi Fridman
On Tuesday afternoon, the group will arrive in Jaffa port to prepare and open the journey. There will be an introductory meeting with the founders of the Way to Jerusalem, a shared dinner, and an open conversation. During the evening, a traditional pilgrim ceremony will take place before the walking begins. The pilgrims will receive their Pilgrim Credential and receive their first stamp and a blessing for the journey at the Libyan Synagogue in Old Jaffa, marking the official start of the pilgrimage.
At the end of the day, the pilgrims will go to sleep in preparation for setting out the next morning, as pilgrims did in ancient times.
The Pioneer Group will walk the Way to Jerusalem for six days. They will pass through diverse local communities, stay within them, meet people, and encourage the intercultural dialogue that the Way invites.
At the end of the journey, the pilgrims will arrive at Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem, where they will receive the Pilgrim Certificate (JERUSALEMA). This certificate represents not only the physical walk and arrival at the destination, but also the inner journey they have experienced.
Everyone is invited to follow the March Pioneer Group on the association’s social media channels and accompany the journey through the steps, meetings, and small moments that shape it.
